DIGG version 3 and DIGG vs. Netscape debates
Anway, as everyone knows Kevin and I are, in fact, friends. We IM and email often, and we actually like and respect each other. I'm also good friends with Marc Andreessen who founded Netscape and who is an investor in DIGG (small world huh?).
Anyway, here are a couple of threads where you can see the debate:

It's kind of funny.... all this press and attention. You would almost think we planned it. ;-)

3. interesting to see how it goes, my guess is digg will lose part of its audience.
The new design also doesn't look better, seems lik they just added more ads

1. The funny thing is that I see DIGG and the Netscape beta as services that can (and do, for the moment) very peacefully coexist (as competitors).
They target different audiences (as you point out - tech vs. mass) and I think these services actually gain value from having the other around.
Competition breed innovation - both services are only going to get better. Plus, I cruise both and submit articles to both. Certain links will do better in different crowds, and they serve up a different helping of "what's hot" online, which is why I check them out in the first place.
This way, if something slips by Digg unnoticed, there's actually somewhere else to check.
