I guess that's why Wikipedia let people edit pages without being logged for so long. :-)

2. I'm a Mahalo addict. I submit links way too much, when I have other stuff I actually *need* to do. And then yesterday, when I found out I could create a page... wow, I went crazy. :P

3. a human can review 20-40 items an hour. We have 60 f/t folks... so we can review like 10,000 items an hour. it scales nicely to be honest.
If we get to the point at which there are 10,000 edits an hour--which it will, but it will take 1-3 years--then we will have so many page views that we will easily be able to afford it.
good question, mahalo for asking it!
5. i hear ya chris, i'm becoming a mahalo addict as well. i just corrected the 9/11 page again. jason, if you want me to be the editor in charge of the 9/11 pages on mahalo, feel free to let me know. the mahalo 9/11 section is kinda weak -- not even a page on the 9/11 commission, no page on wtc 7...you also routinely use the term "conspiracy theory," conveniently overlooking the fact that the "official" story is that 19 guys led by a cave dweller CONSPIRED to crash two planes into two buildings to cause *three* buildings to fall at near free fall speed. anyway jason, i'd be happy to help you out and be in charge of keeping your 9/11 pages in tip top shape if you'd like. hit me up on twitter if you're game.

1. so how are you going to scale the manual review process? you'll have to develop a way to automatically approve some of them, right?
